STERLING T. ASHBY graduated from Columbia Law School in May of 1999 and joined Skadden, Arps Energy/Project Finance Group in September 1999 as a junior associate in the Firms Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Ashby has been actively involved in numerous matters in the regulatory arena since joining the group, as well as assisting on project financing related matters, including reviewing and drafting various project documents related to a gas pipeline project in Tanzania.

Prior to graduating from law school and joining Skadden, Arps, Mr. Ashby received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, and was then employed by a management firm for several years to oversee various construction and energy-related projects. Mr. Ashby then received a M.S. in Science and Technology Studies from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Ashby then served as a research fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory where he did a review of the most significant renewable energy projects that have been undertaken by Federal agencies of the United States government.
